Disappointment

I am very disappointed. We just received two of these capos from an order we placed at our hospital. They don't clamp down on any of our guitars and we have to return them. This was the only one in the physical catalog that was sent - next time I'll check the website first.

Told the man in the store to give me the cheapest capo they had that wasn't elastic, and we tried it on one of the guitars in the store and it worked fine. Brought it home, tried to use it an hour later, and it wasn't clamping down right on the 3rd fret (or any fret lower than the 5th) so I started fiddling with it, trying to get it to work, and then it wouldn't work on any of them. I think the outer coating wears off, making it just a tad too loose. It muffled the sound and made the guitar sound something close to a harp. Going to take it back tomorrow and get a new (more expensive) one.

Worked well for a short time, until the clamping mechanism became loose. Now it no longer provides a good sound, as the 1st and 6th strings are not firmly held down and the overall sound is muffled. Another disappointment is that this capo does not clamp onto the head of the guitar, which is somewhat inconvenient when using it during music therapy sessions.
