The Backyard 5-string Basic Banjo is all you need to start playing this traditional American instrument. The Basic Banjo has a 9.25" diameter hoop of painted mailing-tube cardboard, 18 frets, and a hardwood bridge. The fretboard is solid Nicaraguan Mahogany. String length is 23.5", only slightly shorter than a standard banjo. (For you experienced banjo players, this means the scale intervals are sized as if you were playing with a capo on the second fret of a standard 5-string banjo.) All tuning pegs have gears for easy tuning. Overall length is 32". Weight 2 lbs.
