By Latin Percussion - Aspire series. These Latin style white wood claves are exceptionally resonant, with variable sound qualities; this is the largest style of claves we offer. Claves traditionally are used for rhythmic patterns that form the basis of Latin music; they produce bright, cracking sounds to keep the beat. Both are the same size, although one is the "male" clave, to be held in a cupped hand, and one is the "female" striker, to tap against the held clave. Test to discover the difference - when the correct clave is tapped with the striker, it will produce a lower, more resonant sound. Priced per pair. Each clave is approximately 8" long x 1-1/2" thick.
