The gourds are organically grown in San Diego, CA, and are chosen because of their thickness.  Each gourd body is carefully selected and matched with its soundboard, which is made from either padouk or lacewood.  Padouk is a deep red African hardwood with a full, rich tone.  Lacewood is a gold and brown wood which seems to shimmer in the light.  Both are chosen for their striking beauty and sound quality.  We will ship the style we have in stock at the time your order is placed.

All models have an attached strap strung with colorful beads so you may easily wear or display the Gourd Piano.  The clearly written and illustrated booklet features several songs that will have anyone playing in minutes.  Each key is precisely cut and nickel plated for years of comfortable carefree playing.  All Gourd Pianos are accurately tuned to a C-major scale.
