12 Toners System Book 4: American Folk Songs
By Dolores Anderson
Book
49 pages
One of a series of books providing a unique adaptive notation system for use with tone chimes; the book also works well with handbells. This volume continues to incorporate minor chords. The "12 Toners" title refers to the numbering system, which uses 12 numbered notes to make a chromatic octave. If additional tone chimes are available, the numbers can be extended up or down to include more ringers. Several different color and/ or number coding systems are presented, to make successful ringing possible for everyone regardless of if they read music. Choose to play chords as you sing the song, play a simple melody line along with the song, or combine the melody with chords for more advanced groups. Permission is granted to the purchaser to make transparencies or charts of the songs from the book.
Songs include:
Yellow Rose of Texas
Goober Peas
Home on the Range
Sweet Betsy from Pike
I've Been Workin' on the Railroad
When Johnny Comes Marching Home
Are You Sleeping?
