Collection of 20 mallet activities for elementary Orff Schulwerk classes. Each lesson focuses on a specific skill or objective involving barred percussion instruments and includes the teaching process as well as objectives and suggested grade level. The first section focuses on timbre (activities that explore the instruments, classify them into families and build technique). Second section focuses on rhythm, melody and harmony, illustrating how barred instruments can be used to support objectives in this area. Third section includes 3 performance pieces with extended forms and suggestions for movement. Many of the activities include visuals that you may reproduce for use in your classroom.
