Celebrate National Piano Month with Piano Day!
WHAT:
As September is National Piano Month, West Music is proud to partner with the Family Museum in Bettendorf, Iowa to present Piano Day! In celebrating one of the world’s most popular musical instruments, this program is sure to entertain children (and adults!) of all ages. Piano Day at the Bettendorf Family Museum will take place on Saturday, September 10, and will begin at 10am. During the 10:00 am - 12:00 pm morning session, Patrick Downing of West Music Co. in Moline will present a short “Anatomy of the Piano” presentation, featuring a beautiful Steinway & Sons 7ft. Model B grand piano! Following the Piano Anatomy seminar, children will be treated to the short storybook, The Music Teacher from the Black Lagoon by Mike Thaler, concluded by the “Piano Petting Zoo” in which the children will have the opportunity to play this spectacular Steinway! For the Piano Day finale, we will present a Piano Recital at 1:00 pm featuring pianists of all ages and skill levels! Watch as student and adult pianists from all walks of life perform and showcase their talents, proving that music is an activity that you can carry on for the rest of your life! Recital admission is free.
