Doctors In Rectial
WHAT:
We are thrilled to announce a very special upcoming recital event in the Quad Cities! For the second year in a row, West Music and Steinway & Sons will be collaborating with the Genesis Health Services Foundation and Augustana College to present an exclusive concert event: Doctors In Recital. This unprecedented event will feature the musical talents of many physicians and their family members in the Quad Cities area, performing a wide variety of repertoire, both classical and contemporary. To make this event even more memorable, the musicians will have the opportunity to perform with a very special piano: Steinway L1037, the featured 9 ft. Steinway & Sons Model D concert grand piano that was built in the award-winning documentary Note by Note: The Making of Steinway L1037.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Music Therapy services provided by Genesis and West Music. Music therapy, including hospice care, is a valuable service for hospice patients, and is provided in their homes, nursing homes, and at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. This aspect of music therapy has been shown to bring quality to life, diminish pain, and promote relaxation in end of life care.
The Genesis Doctors In Recital event will be taking place on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:00pm. The event will be held at Centennial Hall, on the campus of Augustana College in Rock Island. Tickets are on sale to the general public for $25, with a discounted price of $20 for senior citizens (60+).
