Free Guitar Skills for Music Therapists and Music Educators Workshop at West Music Coralville!
WHO:
This workshop is intended for music therapists, music educators, music students and anyone who is interested in learning guitar or improving upon existing skills. Though beneficial, prior guitar playing experience is not required to attend this workshop.
WHAT:
A free guitar skills work shop lead by Peter Meyer and Erin Ebnet in promotion of their new instructional book and DVD, Guitar Skills for Music Therapists and Music Educators. Guitar techniques from the text will be taught as well as a brief demonstration of the accompanying DVD will be given. Click here to find out more about this new book!

Peter Meyer received a B.M. in music therapy from the University of Minnesota in 2004 and his M.A. in music therapy from St. Mary-of the-Woods College in 2008. He is currently pursuing a PhD in music therapy from Temple University. Mr. Meyer has presented at the American Music Therapy Association's (AMTA) Great Lakes, Western and Midwestern Regions. Mr. Meyer has been a professional guitar player over fifteen years. During this time he has taught private and group lessons. He has studied guitar with W.C. Handy award winners Paul Rishell, Ronnie Earl and John Cephas. In addition, he has shared the stage with James Cotton, Roomful of Blues, Ronnie Earl and W.C. Clark. He is currently teaching guitar and improvisation at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
Erin Ebnet graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy while studying voice as her main instrument. She has performed with various vocal and blues/rock ensembles and has co-presented guitar workshops at national and regional music therapy conferences. Ms. Ebnet currently works for West Music Company providing contract music therapy services throughout Eastern Iowa.
