WHO: Let’s do all that we can to keep the Music alive in our community! West Music has extended its instrument recycling drive. The designated drop-off for instruments is West Music at 4305 44th Avenue, Moline, IL. The drive is being held for Second Baptist Church Outreach Music and Arts Academy.
WHAT: The SBC Outreach Music Academy was launched in January 2007. They provide private and group lessons to over 50 students, and the goal to reach 100!. Instructors are accomplished professional musicians, and talented students from Augustana College, who is in partnership with the Arts Academy. IT is a non-profit institution dedicated to providing students of all ages with high-quality, affordable instruction in performing arts. This also gives Augustana students a valuable learning opportunity.
Support comes from lesson fees, grants, donations, fund raisers, and special events. Volunteers and parents participate in its success.
The musical instruments must be in working condition. We will accept the following instruments:
- Drums, single snare drums or drum sets
