On Saturday February 25th, West Music hosted an Honors Recital for the winners of the Iowa City area Iowa Music Teachers Association pre-college piano auditions. 10 of the 15 winners were able to perform in this recital and West Music was very happy to acknowledge these talented, hard-working piano students and their teachers. Performers were DJ Jacobi, Lily Meng, Daniel Song, Molly Liu, Grace Wang, Bihotza James-Lejarcegui, CeeCee Sheng, Akash Borde, Ryo Ohashi and Jonathan Ni. Their teachers are Nik Jacob, Lauree Christman, Chuck and Barb Michaelson, and Feilin Lin. The students were able to perform on West Music’s Steinway model D concert grand piano and offered a tune-up for the state competition held March 17th in Ames.
