She speaks publicly on a regular basis about the benefits of music therapy.
Music therapy is the clinical and evidenced based use of music to achieve non-musical goals such as cognitive, emotional, social, and motor skills in addition to communication skills. A music therapist uses both instrumental and recorded music to help individuals work on these specific goal areas. Music therapists work in a variety of settings including nursing homes, hospitals, schools, group homes and private pay. Individuals of all ages can participate in music therapy as client preferred music is always played and no previous musical knowledge is necessary!
Music therapy services will be provided throughout the Cedar Falls area.
If you are interested in talking with a music therapist about our services, please contact Lucy Schipper, NMT, MT-BC at West Music in Cedar Falls at 319-277-1000. The store is located at 6322 University Avenue, Cedar Falls, IA.
