    Mary Fitzgerald holds a Bachelor of Music Education and Piano degree from Simpson College where she graduated in 2011. There she also participated in Women’s and Mixed Choirs. She considers herself a lifelong learner and within the past couple years has really realized the great importance of music, emotion, practice, and patience.

    Teacher Feature: Matt Bernemann

    Matt Bernemann was born in Iowa City and raised in Grinnell. He has been a performing musician for over 20 years. He began his percussion studies in grade school, and continued through his college years, majoring in percussion performance at the University of Iowa. While at the U of I, Matt had the fortune to study with Prof. Tom Davis, head of the percussion department and John Rapson, head of the Jazz studies department.

    Teacher Feature: Greg Collister

    Playing the drums is what Greg has always wanted to do with his life. He got his start with the Galva Elementary School Band at age 10 and began taking private lessons from Al Nache at 14. Greg attended a summer camp at the Los Angeles Music Academy in 2000, and had the pleasure to work with two of the world's greatest drummers, Ralph Humphrey and Joe Porcaro.

    Jessica Saunders has been performing since she was seven and teaching privately since 2007. Growing up, she competed in the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair for fifteen years, and has performed with the Wartburg Opera Ensemble, Wartburg Choir, University of Northern Iowa Opera Ensemble, and with Opera Quad Cities. She currently holds her Master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and her Bachelor’s degree from Wartburg College.
