Summertime might be your time to rest, reflect and recharge your inner batteries for next fall. As you pack up your classroom for summer, do you ever come across a book or lesson that you forgot about last year? Does that idea need some rethinking and rejuvenating this summer? If so, look for music related training or a conference this summer to get those creative ideas going.
Whether your interest is Early Childhood, Kodály, Mariachi, Orff Schulwerk or World Music Drumming – West Music has the connection for you. Many of us from West Music are traveling to these events to participate and learn new ideas, too. By the way, we’ll also have bookstores with the latest and greatest materials for you to review as well as some of the “gems” from our catalog. We’ll have a sampling of these brands of instruments at many of these events: Basic Beat, Sonor, Studio 49, Remo, Toca, Latin Percussion, and Yamaha.
- There are 10 World Music Drumming workshops happening around the United States this summer. Follow this link for all the details of how to register for these trainings.
- Are you interested in learning more about how to better use the xylophones and glockenspiels in your classrooms? Check the American Orff Schulwerk teacher education courses.
- Is singing more of your interest? While this basic musical skill is used in all of the music education courses listed in this article, perhaps a Kodály teacher education program will spark your curiosity.
- Looking for more ways to engage your Latino students next year? Join West Music at a Mariachi Workshop in Las Vegas, NV the end of June. More information may be found here.
As always, feel free to contact West Music before traveling to any of these events to see if we’ll be there at email@example.com or 800-397-9378.
