Jessica Saunders has been performing since she was seven and teaching privately since 2007. Growing up, she competed in the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair for fifteen years, and has performed with the Wartburg Opera Ensemble, Wartburg Choir, University of Northern Iowa Opera Ensemble, and with Opera Quad Cities. She currently holds her Master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and her Bachelor’s degree from Wartburg College.

Jessica is comfortable teaching both classical voice and musical theater styles to students of varying skill levels from ages 6 to adult. She believes in building confidence in her students and strives to work with each student to explore their individual skills and talents!

In addition to teaching at West Music Coralville, Jessica will be attending the University of Iowa in the Fall to pursue her Doctorate Degree in Vocal Performance. She also traveled to Moscow, Russia and Ramstein, Germany last year as an intern with Camp Adventure.

Jessica loves to travel, spend time with friends, read, dance, bike and of course SING!  She'll be judging the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair this year, too. This is a contest that she competed in for over 15 years. She was a sprout Champion in 1999 and a Senior Finalist in 2007, and she loves the competition because it gives youth all over the state the opportunity to perform and practice their craft. She's also performed with the Wartburg Choir, Wartburg Opera Ensemble, UNI Opera Ensemble and Quad Cities Opera.
