Singing with Treblemakers

Do you ever need good vocal models for young singers – whether it’s your own toddler or early childhood age students? Are you looking for songs recorded in good singing ranges? The Treblemakers’ series of CDs is the answer!

The Treblemakers are comprised of boys and girls in grades 5 – 9 singing under the direction of Mary Ellen Junta, the founder of the group. These students have developed their vocal production and music skills through the Kodaly-based curriculum of the chorus.

With each CD, the song lyrics are inside the liner notes. Directions for a few clapping games are also included for the second CD in the series. All accompaniments do not distract, but enhance the songs. Hammered dulcimer, guitar, percussion and bass are some of the instruments used on the first CD.  The jazz CD features a jazz band with piano.

The Treblemakers’ first CD, Singing with Treblemakers, contains 25 favorite nursery songs, from “Bought Me a Cat” to the 5 verses of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” Our Favorite Folk Songs features 23 folk songs ranging from “Juba” to “The Erie Canal.” The third CD in the series, Jazz It Up! , presents 15 African-American folk songs and traditional children’s songs all jazzed up. It’s a great introduction for children to jazz styles.

For excellent models of children’s voices singing timeless, favorite songs, please check out the Treblemakers’ CDs!
