Anybody who has seen or read “The Notebook” knows that it is considered one of the greatest love stories of all time. Earlier this year another movie was released by the same author, titled “Dear John”. Coming out around Valentine’s Day, the movie pulled audiences into even more emotions of love and heartbreak.  Around two months later Nicholas Sparks released another movie that combined some of the strongest emotions that people can feel.

In the movie “The Last Song”, a rebellious teenage girl is forced to go see her father in Georgia, which is the last place that she wants to be. She and her little brother haven’t seen their father for years and she wonders why now would be the time for them to be together. She has inherited her Father’s talent with music and the piano but she refuses to play.  Throughout her time visiting her Father she falls in love with not only a boy that she meets, but with music again.

The main character, Ronnie, is played by Miley Cyrus who sings the song “When I Look at You” for her role in this movie. This song expresses the strong feelings that surround her character throughout her entire journey in the movie and the book. The song fits the story perfectly and tugs at the heart. Every single note is a powerful and beautiful way to define and paint a picture of what the whole story is about.

“When I Look at You” is available in Piano/Vocal/Guitar versions at West Music as sheet music and is also available in Miley Cyrus’ book “The Time of our Lives”, which also includes her hit “Party in the U.S.A.”.

Upon coming in, please feel free to ask an associate if you can try it out on one of our instruments to see how it sounds!
