Jeff Burak is a guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and advanced theory instructor at West Music. He holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Guitar Performance from Cal State University -Fullerton. He also teaches private and group lessons at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and has coached Rock Steady and Weekend Warrior groups. Jeff started playing guitar at the age of 12 and played in a hard rock band at age 13. Later, through the guidance of a guitar instructor, he discovered classical music. A well-rounded musician, Jeff enjoys playing and teaching all styles of music including rock, folk, pop, metal, country, Christian, folk, and jazz. Jeff has composed and performed on many CDs and has played live on TV stations, IPTV, KGAN, KCRG, and KWWL. He won an honorable mention in the International John Lennon Songwriting Contest in 2003, for a song off his latest release entitled, “Unexpected”. In 2004, Jeff’s song “Reflections” was the theme music for an Oprah Winfrey Show. In his spare time, Jeff paints landscapes and portraits. He enjoys fishing and collecting instruments and antiques. He also enjoys visiting his family in California and spending time with his children.
