Lucy Sharp has been playing auxiliary percussion for over 20 years, ever since her son gave her a red tambourine; her 1st of many! Now Lucy plays maracas, egg shakers, cowbell, and just received a mini cajon (which she is still learning to play.)
Lucy has participated in 11 sessions with the West Music Weekend Warriors! Around town, she’s played with Shade of Blue, Ritchie Lee and the Fabulous 50’s, and Holiday Road. She loves taking her tambourine around to local shows and playing with the bands. She has also played with the Hip Hop Kids at her son’s bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas.
Lucy dreams of being in her own band. She loves 50’s-era rock and roll, but since she has been in the Warriors, she’s come to appreciate a very wide range of music.
Aside from her tenure with the Warriors and playing around town, Lucy loves to meet friends for lunch or dinner, or go out dancing. She very recently left on a trip to visit her son out in California. Lucy is retired from the University of Iowa Hospitals food department.
