Dennis Pedde holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Trumpet Performance from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago where he studied with Arnold Jacobs and William Scarlett of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Dennis successfully completed all coursework and recitals toward the DMA degree at the University of Iowa, where he studied under David Greenhoe. Currently, Dennis is Adjunct Professor of Music in Central College, Pella, and Kirkwood Community College. Aside from teaching trumpet at the college level, he also teaches courses in trumpet pedagogy and music theory. Dennis is principal trumpet of the Oskaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra. He also plays Chamber music with the Sunday Evening Brass Quintet with West Music alum Ken Ausman. Dennis has an avid interest in performing Renaissance music on the cornetto, an instrument that looks like a cross between a recorder and a miniature alp horn. Dennis is also in a band called The Brass Transit Authority which plays classic rock covers at venues all around eastern Iowa.
