Chris Dimond teaches all styles of guitar and welcomes students of all ages. His structured teaching approach emphasizes reading music, understanding music theory and learning how to play by ear. His studio offers yearly performance opportunities and recitals to showcase student progress.
Chris holds a B.A. from The University of Iowa with a Jazz Studies Emphasis. He also studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston with emphasis in Guitar Performance and Film Scoring. Chris has over 20 years of playing experience in live performance. He enjoys playing with many groups, in styles ranging from rock, jazz, folk, blues, country, classical, church music and big band. He performs regularly with the Jazz Vespers group at Trinity Episcopal Church under the direction of Professor John Rapson.
In 2012, Chris was the M.C. Ginsberg Artist in Residence for the Iowa City Community School District. His studio is especially committed to motivating young students early on.
