Beth RamseyBeth Ramsey has been playing the flute for over 27 years. She grew up in Council Bluffs, IA where she studied flute with the principal flutist of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra. Upon graduation she attended the University of Iowa and studied flute performance with Betty Mather. She then went on to attain a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Iowa as well.

During her career as a professional flutist Beth has played with a variety of small and large ensembles including the Cedar Municipal Band, and the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra.

Currently Beth works as a special education teacher at Longfellow Elementary in the Iowa City School District.

One of Beth’s favorite hobbies is to knit and crochet. She likes to read science fiction stories - Phillip K Dick is her favorite author in this genre. She loves her dog, Sparkles, and also really likes to play her flute with other musicians. When the weather is warmer, Beth likes to go golfing with her husband.

Aside from working and teaching, right now Beth is helping a friend repair a vintage afghan her mother made for her when she was little so she can give it to her children.

Group flute lessons are available! Bring a friend and learn flute together!
