Emma Gehlbach is an 8th
grader at North Central Jr. High School. She is currently studying piano and clarinet, and plays tenor sax for jazz band. She has been taking lessons from Jason Sifford (piano) for 7 years and Bart Yates (clarinet) for 2 ½ years.
Emma has made first chair clarinet in SEIBA honor band, first chair in the Kennedy honor band, the IBA (Iowa Bandmasters Association) honor band on clarinet, and has won the Level D IMTA (International Model and Talent Association) piano competition.
Emma comes from a very musical family – her brother plays piano and trumpet, her father plays piano, and her mother plays both piano and clarinet. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and running.
Some of Emma’s goals are to make All State Honor Band and to win the IMTA piano competition again.
Congratulations, Emma! Great Job!
