Extraordinary Associate of the Month June 2015: Jeff Musel
By West Music Company

Whether he is taking care of a customer himself or coaching his team to success, Jeff Musel always keeps the customer top of mind. In his 27+ years at West Music, Jeff has seen a lot of transformations occur, and as one of the original members of the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognized band, Dogs On Skis, Jeff has been a part of many musical communities. Jeff takes time with his associates every week to make sure they know how the store is doing and how each of them can take care of the customer.

Jennie Crim, who has worked with Jeff since 1996, had this to say, “Jeff has a natural talent in that he always comes up with a valuable perspective when talking about any topic i.e. customer needs, selling situations, differences of opinions, promotions, anything. You find yourself thinking “I had not looked at it that way - good point.”

A consummate and experienced sales associate, Jeff is able to put himself in the customer’s shoes and help his associates understand what their needs and reservations may be so we can find the best possible solution for them. This past December, Jeff was able to talk to a customer who originally came into the Marion store looking for a purple flute case and ended up walking out with a piano! Jeff is always helping his customers both internally and externally find what they need to succeed.
