Alice Lindsey - Piano, French Horn & Trumpet
Alice was educated in the Cedar Rapids schools and earned a teaching certificate from Sherwood Music School in Chicago. She earned a B.A. and a B.M. from Coe College in Cedar Rapids and a M.A. from University of Iowa and pursued coursework in education and arranging at the University of Iowa and Iowa State University.
Alice is also an accompanist for Alburnett Schools, music director at Asbury United Methodist Church where she directs the choir, maintains the music library, and plays the organ and piano.
Alice has travelled to Communist Russia, East and West Germany, Czechoslovakia, United Kingdom, and France. She directed the song “America the Beautiful” aboard a ship in northern Communist Russia on July 4th, 1989. She composed and directed music for a children’s choir honoring Jesse Owens at Tyler School.
Her teaching is marked by innovative examples with emphasis on accurate rhythm and harmonic awareness.
