Christina Gentzsch has her Bachelor of Music in cello performance with a minor in vocal performance from Washburn University. Her Master of Arts in cello performance was received from the University of Iowa. She taught cello at Manning Music in Topeka, Kansas for 4 years and West Music in Coralville for 6 years. She has just recently joined us here at West Music in Marion.

Christina has or is still playing with the Accipiter String Quartet, South East Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Ottumwa Symphony, Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Iowa and several community theater pit orchestras.

In 2008 she toured as principal cellist with the Washburn Symphony Orchestra around Honduras. She says, "It was such a humbling experience to travel around a third world country and see their love and appreciation of music. It made me so grateful for what I had and inspired me to work even harder for my musical career."

Her hobbies and interest include cooking, traveling, reading, running, billiards, cats, and dogs. Her favorite thing about teaching is playing music with her students.
