Breann is a senior at Riverdale High School, a member of the Quad Cities Youth Orchestra, and has been studying viola with Jenny Pickering for almost 6 years! Breann says that the thing she loves most about playing music is the people. Almost all of her friends are musicians; in fact, her best friend started orchestra with her in 6th grade. She believes that music is a sort of secret code that brings us together. No matter if you're from China, Russia, or the United States -- it's the same everywhere.

Aside from being accepted into All-State, Breann's musical goals include joining a big orchestra, majoring in music education, and earning her master's degree and doctorate. Her advice to other musicians is to not give up. Even if you've reached the point where you can't stand your teacher or your instrument, just keep playing. Even after you graduate, even if you're not part of an emsemble, just keep playing.

When she's not playing her viola, Breann participates in musical theatre, speech, and choir. She has even joined concert band, performing the oboe part on viola. Her hobbies are watching Netflix, singing in the shower, eating, napping, and Extreme Flavor Blasted Goldfish. Her favorite bands right now are Foster the People, The Dispatch, Cake, Modest Mouse, and classical music when she needs to really focus or when she's drawing or driving. Breann also works part time at Whitey's in Bettendorf.

Congratulations, Breann! Great Job!
