Emily has been teaching since October 2012.  She began playing cello at 8 years old - it was her first instrument. She is from Pittsburg, PA where she went to High School at North Hills HS, and graduated in 2008.  She went on to Augustana College where she received her Bachelors of the Arts.  She majored in German, Swedish, and minored in music.

Emily currently works as sales associate at Video Games Etc.! in Davenport. She most recently played with the Augustana Symphony Orchestra from 08-12.

Her hobbies and interests include video games and video game collecting, collecting outdated video game formats like laserdisc and CED, and learning about Persian and Caucasian antique rugs and fixing them.

Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing students solve their own problems, observing long term progress, and playing in small ensembles.

She lived in Lutherstadt-Wittenberg, Germany in 2009.  She traveled around Europe and learned a lot about the different cultures, languages, and modern history.  She was able to see many classical concerts in Vienna and other larger cities.
