Eric Smith is our upright and electric bass teacher at West Music Quad Cities. Eric graduated from Northern Illinois University in the fall of 2014 with a Bachelor's in Jazz Studies/Performance where he had the amazing experience to play music from around the world with people from around the world.
His first instrument was saxophone, which he played between the ages of 11 to 18. He started playing electric bass when he was 13, and upright at 15. He is a gigging musician and occasionally plays shows for charity and organizational events. He currently plays with the Ethan Bell Band and with Matthew Tembo.
Eric is very involved in music, but when he is not playing he enjoys video games and books. His most recent and more interesting show, he played reggae/calypso music at an African themed fashion show.
Eric's favorite thing about teaching is when he is the one that learns something!
