Julie Wince is more than a piano student, orchestra director, musician, and mother of 2 musicians… she is an advocate for Music in all its forms. She is anxiously looking forward to going to Pearl Jam with her husband Terry and son Travis, and is also looking forward to Yo Yo Ma coming to Davenport in the spring.
She plays piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, and electric bass and performs in lots of string quartets. Maybe one of these days we can get her playing drums like her two sons.
She started taking piano lessons in February 2010 when she decided that she wanted to be able to accompany her students at solo festival. Her teacher Clara Nielsen and her also have a lot of fun together, and she also reads in her free time. The last book that she loved was Gone Girl. When asked about advice for other musicians, she simply said, "Do not care about what you sound like now. It will only get better."
