April’s Featured Teacher is Clara Nielsen!
Clara Nielsen has been playing the piano for the past 23 years. She has been teaching lessons to others for about 12 of those years. Through the years, Clara has studied under 6 different piano instructors, each having a very different style and focus. She tries to incorporate a mix of different teaching styles to best suit each individual student.
Clara has taught students of all ages, and taught most levels (beginner through moderately advanced). She focuses mostly on classical music skills and learning to read music, but also has experience playing by chord in bands and has done a lot of accompaniment. When Clara was in college, she played for the choir and trio, and has played for many other events, such as weddings, funerals, dinner music, church events, etc.
Clara’s main philosophies for teaching piano are that everyone can learn music and that learning music should be a fun experience. Clara also does a little bit of simple composition with students who like to write their own songs.
