What’s the Big Deal About the Bach Stradivarius Trumpets?

The main difference between intermediate and professional trumpets, like the Bach Stradivarius, is the bell design.

Professional trumpets have bells that are hand hammered from one piece of brass, whereas student and intermediate trumpets have a two piece bell design. With a two piece bell there is a resistant solder joint that can cause the sound and response to be “dead.”

Bach also claims to have found the secret in the annealing process, which means they know exactly what temperatures to heat and cool the metal and when to do so. This process aligns the molecules in the metal and creates the legendary “Bach” sound.

Good luck getting your hands on this formula--Vincent Bach’s secret’s are kept under lock and key and known only to a few of the most trusted Bach employees in Indiana.
