Drum Tuning DiagramA common error in tuning hand drums is made by tightening the head unevenly, which causes the shell (rim) to warp after time. To tighten, turn thumbscrews not more than 1-2 turns clockwise, turning each one the same amount, and alternating in this order (see diagram).
