Michelle Jenson not only teaches piano, but she teaches all styles of piano from Ragtime to Classical, Rock and Jazz. Michelle is a graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a BM in Piano Performance, with Piano Pedagogy emphasis.

She has been an avid player for more than 10 years and has been teaching private piano lessons for over 6 years, working with both children and adults of various skill levels from beginners to advanced players. She works with each individual focusing on the students' interests: composition, theory, technique, ear-training, popular, classical - just to name a few. She thoroughly enjoys accompanying college and high school concerts/recitals/competitions throughout the year. She is comfortable working with a variety of methods, and carefully guides and encourages each student to realize their own unique ability and individuality.

As the piano/Clavinova consultant at West Music in Cedar Falls, she has the great pleasure of placing pianos in family homes, schools/universities, and churches. In addition, she is has a key role in the annual Clavinova Festival where aspiring young musicians showcase their talents in a wide competition performing on Clavinovas and digital pianos.

First and foremost, Michelle loves to write and perform piano music. However, she has a wide variety of other interests and talents such as; candle making, gardening, sewing, food art and learning about aquatic life.

Michelle participates in local events such as “The Great Pumpkin Workshop”, “Haunted Hayride Musical”, art and pottery exhibits and “Easy Does It” Karaoke!
