Repairing a Piano Hammer Shank

Thanks for your question! It sounds like a broken hammer shank. If it's splintered down the grain, we may be able to repair it on site, which is a flat fee, plus mileage cost. If it's snapped perpendicular to the shank, we would have to replace the shank, which may require a new one and time in the shop. That's a little more, including mileage. We would need to know location of the piano, make, and model to give accurate pricing. You can call Matt at 319.351.2000 or 800.373.2000, or email mmcclellen@westmusic.com - Matt M.

broken piano key

The wooden piano hammer arm is broken. The break is a little jagged, and I was wondering what the cost of repair would be. If it matters, it's the Ab below middle C. Thanks. - Chris

Thanks for visiting, Kelly. What I can tell you is the trumpet you mention is worth about $70-$150. It may be difficult to repair down the road with parts not being available. - Rod

Question about a trumpet

I have a TriStar Trumpet that I am trying to get more information on. It is silver and was made in India. The serial number on the instrument is 03720031. I would like to know more about the instrument and how much it would be worth. There are zero dents or scratches in it and it playing perfectly. Thanks. - Kelly Oelmann
