Mallet Madness Strikes Again by Artie Almeida was a big hit after Artie’s session there. Like its predecessor, Mallet Madness, this book is filled with music concept lessons that use mallet instruments and drums. A favorite aspect of the book is the music and literature connections. Eight delightful children’s books are used in the lessons.


Marge Troeh, from Global Music Connections, shows how you can find music in every book! Here she reads "Yesterday I Had the Blues."

Hal Leonard has an exciting new series on the market that is going to knock the sports socks off of band and orchestra players.

"Sports Rock" is a new series of play-along books that have great hits like "Another One Bites the Dust", "We are the Champions", and, of course, no sports collection would be complete with out Divo's "Whip It."


Music Education with Folksong Picture Books! This package contains the first four books in John Feierabend's picture book series of folksongs.

Each hardcover book has the folksong and story adapted by Feierabend. The songs are notated with all the words. Any special directions are in the back of the books. Each book is a new twist on a timeless story. Information on where to go online to download the song in audio form is also included in each book.


A favorite aspect of Artie Almeida's Mallet Madness is her inclusion of several music and literature connection activities. These activities help develop children's skills, as well as musicality.

This beginning book starts out with a photo of the full recorder family from soprano to the bass. Included are a basic history of the recorder and information on how to care for recorders will help to start your student out on the right track. As we move into to the first notes, only one note is featured at a time with a visual presentation of how to hold and play the recorder. This helps your students to focus on the task at hand and lay the foundation needed.
