Great question, and it depends on what sort of finish you have on the guitar. If it is a "glossy" finish, use a good quality guitar polish and cleaner. I always recommend the Dunlop 65 polish as it is a cleaner as well as polish. Use it just on the body of the guitar and try not to get it on the strings. You'll be amazed at how new your guitar will look. If your guitar has a flat or "satin" finish, don't use polish. Simply wipe it down with a clean dry cloth to remove fingerprints and any other dirt that might be on the body of the instrument.

Don't use polish on a guitar's fingerboard. There are many conditioners available for fingerboards, most of which are derived from lemon oil. Hope this helps and whenever you have questions, let us help you.
