On Monday, June 22, Steinway Jazz Artist Dan Knight listened to students perform their favorite pieces and gave suggestions on technique that were helpful and educational to everyone there.

Dan provides interesting stories and plays contrasting examples. Everyone in attendance learned as Dan had the students come up to watch him demonstrate why proper hand position can help, as well as what can happen down the road if you don’t use proper technique.

You should have seen how he explained “swinging the rhythm”! He looked like a cowboy swinging a rope and about to lasso a horse!! Participants left having learned a thing or two.
