You and your students are cordially invited to participate in a Jazz Piano Master Class presented by internationally acclaimed Steinway Jazz artist, Dan Knight. The master class will feature jazz and pop pieces performed by young area pianists.

Afterwards, Mr. Knight will offer thoughts for each pianist on how to perform their music even better. This is a tremendous opportunity for you to expand your knowledge on teaching and performing jazz repertoire.

Pieces prepared for the class include all jazz idioms including pop and rag. There is no age limitation for participation. The master class is open to the public.


It's the 25th Anniversary of the Yamaha Clavinova!The public is invited, so don't miss this! ClavFest Marion begins Saturday, October 17, at 9:30.

Students of Shriley Hanneman, Wendy Davis, Kelly Loveless, Terry Lage, and Kimberly Thornton will have over 100 of their students playing in recitals at 9:30 and 11 am, 1:30 , 3, and 4 PM.

These piano students take their piano pieces and play them using really cool sounds, FX, and accompaniment backgrounds. Ensembles will sound like an entire orchestra.


Steinway Extavaganza

Nelda, Kirk, Ben, Brandon, PatrickRecently, West Music and the University of Iowa piano department hosted our 7th annual Steinway Piano Extravaganza.

This event is all about celebrating the piano by recognizing our area teachers, students, and their parents. The theme this year centered around the award winning documentary Note by Note, which details the building of a Steinway model D nine-foot concert grand from the forest floor to Carnegie Hall. This film was shown to a very receptive audience, and joining us was the film's director and producer, Ben Niles.
