If you’re looking for a good gift idea for you or a friend, here’s a book that I would suggest getting this holiday season! A Contemporary Christmas contains nine early advanced piano arrangements of popular contemporary Christian and classic Christmas favorites that are perfect for worship services. The arrangements can be used effectively as prelude music at the beginning of services, or whenever reflective music is required. Helpful fingering and approximate performance times are included with each arrangement.

How do you get your students to practice? It's a question that comes up again and again. Here are some suggestions! - One of the tips that Matt Rigdon has told me in the past is if a Student "memorizes" pieces very quickly by ear but doesn't take the time to read, he makes them ready the music by starting at the end. The kids then can't play it by ear!
- Louann Flaherty said she had a student who wasn't practicing at all, so for a week she had him call and leave a message on her cell every time he practiced. That way, he knew how much she cared about his practice.

So those of you with young girls in the family from 3 on up may have heard some singing coming from the back seat on that last summer trip you took. Most likely a few songs were from a particular artist. Taylor Swift has had a strong following with her first CD titled "Taylor Swift", but her new album "Fearless" has left it in the dust with songs like its title song, "White Horse." Also who hasn't heard "Love Story" on the radio at last a dozen times a day?
Who hasn't heard of Hannah Montana? If you have young girls ages 3 on up, you probably have been exposed to the craze and heard many of the songs. I know of families that have traveled hours to go see her show!
