Drew's background illustrates his passion for jazz performance and education. He won the 2003 Downbeat Student Music award for Best Small Jazz Group and was a member of the Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Jazz Ensemble in 2004. He attended DePaul University in Chicago as a student and also served as an Ensemble Director for DePaul's Jazz program. During his tenure at DePaul he won a position in the Disney All-American College Marching Band and enjoyed success in several national and regional jazz improvisation competitions. He graduated in 2010 with a Master's in Jazz Composition and Pedagogy.
Drew began his professional career as the head of sales and customer service at Tenor Madness in Waterloo, IA. With several years of experience in procuring unique instruments and matching them to players' needs, he is an expert in vintage and modern woodwind equipment.
Drew freelances as a performer and clinician across Eastern Iowa and looks forward to assisting you with growing your program and making your life easier.
