By Dolores Anderson. One of a series of books providing a unique adaptive notation system for use with tone chimes; the book also works well with handbells. The songs in this volume are familiar classical melodies, so no lyrics are included. The "chords only" level of participation has been eliminated, focusing instead on playing the tune with the addition of chordal suggestions for more advanced groups. The 5 Mystery Songs have the melody numbers written out without the song title or staff notation. The "12 Toners" title refers to the numbering system, which uses 12 numbered notes to make a chromatic octave. If additional tone chimes are available, the numbers can be extended up or down to include more ringers. Color and number coding systems are presented, to make successful ringing possible for everyone regardless of if they read music. Permission is granted to the purchaser to make transparencies or charts of the songs from the book.
