Why is this book so expensive?

BEST ANSWER: The official reason is because that's what the publisher feels the book is worth.
Can someone tell me more about this boo? Is it rare and not easily found? Recommended somewhere else in a presentation, just trying to figure out it if it truly useful as was indicated.

BEST ANSWER: It is not rare just expensive bc it is valued by music teachers. I've had it for many years and don't know if I would buy it now that it is so expensive but I do find it to be a great resource.
