The Amazing Jamnasium
A Playful Companion to Together in Rhythm
By Kalani
Book and CD
64 pages

Designed as a supplement to Together in Rhythm (item 812240), this book features a unique collection of rhythm-based, integrative games and activities designed to bring out the best in your participants. The clear format makes them easy to present and many are shown on the included Enhanced CD.

Play the CD in a standard CD player to access the 5 rhythm tracks listed in the Grooves to Drum By section. Place the CD in your computer to enjoy watching video footage of many of the rhythm games.

Each arrangement in the "Grooves to Drum By" is made up of 5 different rhythm patterns for these instrument categories: "bass" drum (surdo, dundun), hand drum (conga, jembe), wood sound (tone block, woodblock, clave), rattle/shaker (cabasa, shekere, rattle, tambourine, shaker), and bell (cowbell, agogo, gankogui).

While this book may be used on its own, these games and activities are most effectively presented using the Drum Circle Music approach to music facilitation (found in Together in Rhythm). Create compelling, integrative learning experiences for music education, music therapy, teambuilding, health & wellness, community building or recreation.
