Aulos one-piece C recorder is the very smallest recorder available. This piccolo recorder in C', commonly known as the Garklein, sounds two octaves higher than notated and should be used to add variety and tone color to a recorder consort. Recorder is 6-3/8" long.
Ivory-color mouthpiece and foot. Dark brown; one-piece with single holes; Baroque (English) Fingering: ABS plastic: leatherette case: fingering chart.
I have a consort of recorders and when I demonstrate the recorders to my students I discuss how just as the recorder has a different voicing it is like people... their voices differ also from high to low and range. It helps to make the connection between instrumental music and vocal music. I think that all musicians should be able to sing what they play and recorders are an economical way to make this connection
My children love to play in our recorder ensemble. We play Tues, Wed, & Thurs, before school. Many switch between Soprano, Alto, Sopranino and Tenor, they also wanted to try the Garkliein recorder since I am the only one that has one.
