Why did you choose this?
West Music Store
I have purchased them before for my music class room and they have worked well.

Recommended by a Music Company- expect quality and tuning. Construction seemed better than other similar instruments for kids.

I have a 4 yr old with good rhythm. I thought this would be a creative instrument for him to explore.

My nephews will practice solfa patterns with drm, drms, drmsl and drmfs folk songs. They have no pitch training to date.

I thought it would be a great gift for a mature 3 year old who loves music. I hope I'm right.

Wondering if there are any parts that could come off that my 2 year old might swallow?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Nothing to swallow. My 14mo old daughter loves to play with the mallet. Sometimes, she chews on the black end of the mallet, other times she whacks herself in the head with the white end. We hid 1 of the 2 mallets, so she only plays with one of them. This is the best glockenspiel - lightweight and IN TUNE! My daughter LOVES this instrument.
Our toddlers took the metal notes off the base and we can't get them back on. Has this happened to anyone else? The teacher is ready to deep six this.

Does this come with any sheet music or anything to show the child how to play?

Is there a music book to buy that is coordinated by same color codes as this 8 note glockenspiel?
