Our Perspective

This small set of claves is ideal for the younger player, as they are easier to hold properly than a larger set.  They have a nice, bright sound to them that will easily be heard through a group of singing students or an ensemble of instrument players.  -Jenny

By Basic Beat. Single pair of rosewood claves; dimensions are approximately 7-1/8" long x 3/4" diameter. Claves traditionally are used for rhythmic patterns; they produce bright, cracking sounds to keep the beat. Both are the same size, although one is the "male" clave, to be held in a cupped hand, and one is the "female" striker, to tap against the held clave. Test to discover the difference - when the correct clave is tapped with the striker, it will produce a lower, more resonant sound. Priced per pair.

These claves are small and smooth and not too heavy for little hands.
