Our Perspective

Toddlers love the sound of shakers and these mini-sized maracas are so toddler-friendly. The handles are easy to grip and the maracas are extremely lightweight. Sold in like-color pairs, they encourage toddlers to use both hands (bilateral motion) to create rhythms. Holding and shaking the maracas encourages development of fine motor skills. Of course don’t tell your toddler how much they are learning when they play—they’ll be too busy having fun to notice!  -Melissa

How big are these?
A shopper on Jul 30, 2012
Best Answer: Not sure of the exact length, but I would guess about 5 inches. The maraca head is maybe about 1 and 1/2 inches wide. I like them a lot - I think they make a nice full sound, and they feel good in your hand. I bought them for my nieces and they love them. I'll probably order a few for my classroom this year as well.

How sturdy are these? We've had other ones shatter easily,
Mary B on Apr 17, 2015
Best Answer: I love these and I've never had one shatter. I use them in all my early childhood music classes with no problem. The worst issue is the colors are random so I got a lot of pinks which cause SO many tears with the girls. All of my pink maracas have been "on vacation" for the last two years. :) So they aren't really usable. Good buy, though!

I got the small wooded Best Beat maracas but they are very light and Im afraid many older residents won't hear their sounds. Are these plastic, and do they have more sound than the small wooden maracas? Thank you.
