Our Perspective

As an Education Consultant, I love recommending the kokiriko to teachers.  It is fun to use as a rhythm instrument, but it’s also great to use for sound effects.   The domino-like sound that it creates is sure to spark a smile or two from your students!  -Jenny

Description

By Basic Beat, the kokoriko features wood slats that are securely connected by a leather strap and a handle at each end. When holding the handles and moving the hands up and down in an alternating pattern, a crisp wood "domino effect" sound is produced.

Please note: The musical instruments on our website and in our catalog are not toys. They are intended for use with adult supervision and are not for children under 3 years of age, unless otherwise indicated.

We enjoy this at our local Musikgarten class! The Kokirikos available at West Music are less expensive than on a site like Amazon.

I choose this a a gift for my nephew who is 5 years old and has Down Syndrome. I felt it would be easy for him to use to play along with music. I also know he will enjoy the special sound it makes.

I already have one and my students all want to play it. It has a wonderful rolling-clicking sound that they love.
