Celebrate the Spring
Spring and May Day Celebrations for Schools and Communities
By John Langstaff, Patrick Swanson and George Emlen
80 pages

"How-to" manual for creating Revels-type spring and May Day celebrations for communities or for school performance. Traditional celebrations within this period are May Day, Spring Equinox, Midsummer's Day, Fasching, Carnival, Mardi Gras, Purim and more recent additions celebrating our environment.

On each page is a list of "ingredients" (processionals, group dances or songs) with page numbers for each section (the section you're in is highlighted). Musical examples, dance instructions, background on spring and summer rituals and other useful materials are given. Most of the material may be used by children and adults. Sample programs are suggested with references to Revels recordings and publications.
